SWERVEDRIVER - SCI FLYER ------------------------ Band : Swervedriver Song : Sci Flyer Album : Raise Tabber : Dave Ashton Email : trollhammeren@hotmail.co.uk Ok here is a version of Sci Flyer that I discovered by accident when I was fiddling around on my guitar. (as usual). Guitar one is always played with distortion throughout the song whereas guitar two opts for a combination between wah + distorted and clean. The song is simple just listen to it to figure out the rhythm etc. Intro ----- Guitar 1 E|--------------------|---------|--------------------| Each bar or section here is splitting up the various B|--------------------|---------|--------------------| riffs played in the intro section, the 1st riff is played G|--6-6-6-6-----------|---------|--6-6-6-6-----------| with guitar 2's 1st bar underneath. D|--6-6-6-6--7-7-7-7--|--2-2-2--|--6-6-6-6--7-7-7-7--| The 2nd riff is played with guitar 2 playing the 2nd bar underneath. A|--4-4-4-4--7-7-7-7--|--2-2-2--|--4-4-4-4--7-7-7-7--| The 3rd bar is just the first bar but with a different rhythm, E|-----------5-5-5-5--|--0-0-0--|-----------5-5-5-5--| guitar 2 rests during this part. Guitar 2 E|--------------------|-------------------------------| B|--6~~~~~~-----------|-------------------------------| 1st Bar: Distortion and Wah G|--6~~~~~~--7~~~~~~--|------9-7-7-9-7-7-9-7-----7-7--| 2nd Bar: Clean D|-----------7~~~~~~--|--9-9-----------------9-7------| A|--------------------|-------------------------------| E|--------------------|-------------------------------| End of Intro ------------ Guitar 1 E|-----------|--------------------| B|-----------|--------------------| Play the first bar a load of times then the rhythm changes G|--4-2-4-2--|--4-4-4--2-2--4--2--| and play the second bar then. D|--4-2-4-2--|--4-4-4--2-2--4--2--| A|--2-0-2-0--|--2-2-2--0-0--2--0--| E|-----------|--------------------| Guitar 2 E|-------------------------------| B|-------------------------------| During the above chords guitar two faintly plays G|-------------------------------| these notes in the background, play the 1st one with D|--9~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-/17\1--| lots of vibrato then quickly slide up to 17 and then back down. A|-------------------------------| E|-------------------------------| Guitar 1 E|-----------------------------------| B|-----------------------------------| This is played during guitar two's riff G|---------------4-4-4--2-2-2-2-2-2--| the bass is more prominent during this bit so you D|--4-4-4-4-4-4--4-4-4--2-2-2-2-2-2--| can either play along with the bass or play the lead with A|--4-4-4-4-4-4--2-2-2--0-0-0-0-0-0--| guitar two instead. Your choice. (",) E|--2-2-2-2-2-2----------------------| Guitar 2 E|--------| B|--------| I couldn't be bothered typing out the exact rhythm for the lead G|--9-11--| because its just orientated around these two notes! So just D|--------| listen to the song and it will all fall in to place, young grasshopper. A|--------| E|--------| Verse + Chorus -------------- E|-----------------------------|---------------------------------| B|-----------------------------|---------------------------------| The verses and choruses are all in the G|-----------6-6-6-6-----------|-----6-----------6---------------| 1st bar, after the chorus or the verse D|--2-2-2-2--6-6-6-6--7-7-7-7--|--4--6--7--2--4--6--7--4-4-4-4^--| the 2nd bar is played, bend the last chord up so A|--2-2-2-2--4-4-4-4--7-7-7-7--|--4--4--7--2--4--4--7--4-4-4-4^--| it sounds like a G. E|--0-0-0-0-----------5-5-5-5--|--2-----5--0--2-----5--0-2-0-2^--| Send Comments, Hate Mail, Swervedriver Tabs to: trollhammeren@hotmail.co.uk .
