Hi. I was chatting with Lee from sianspheric / toshack highway today. He showed me http://toshackhighway.com/ (click video) and the video section he is growing.
Long chat short he is interested in the super collectors putting up videos to youtube. Specifically he is looking for the my zephyr video and more from the tower records in store with maelstrom and love / hate the way it starts / ends.
Please feel 'copyright' free to put things up but please be selective. It hurts us all if poor quality / poor performance videos get out there. It all can be made available if you just keep the embarrassing stuff from getting out.
Does anybody know what happened to that live Adam Franklin solo concert video that was up on YouTube? (I think it was the Black Cat 2001 show?) If you can repost it for a while that would be great! Thanks
I can't believe that the full original video of Duel has vanished from YouTube. There's the Road Rash version, which is good, but it's just not the same :(
I have bungloads of stuff that could be used for such purposes but it is all in DVD format (video_ts) and I'd much prefer having the tapers permission before degrading a perfectly good video to youtube standards. The copy of the tower records instore I have is fairly early gen also and I do have one of the original tapers email address but I seem to recall that the master is lost. Could be mistaken though, so many conversations re swervie dvds. :P
Ley from Toshack Highway / Bolts of Melody just approached me about getting vids again. He wants to host them himself this time. If you have great things please contact me at brad at swervedriver.com and I'll hook you up with Ley.
I had that Adam Franlin solo up there on the youtube and youtube cancelled my account because I had another friend's band's clip up there from when they were on MTV and youtube yanked me because of their lawsuit with viacom. The funny thing about that was I didn't put ANY keywords alluding to mtv or 120 minutes and they still found the clip. I'll try to put that Franklin clip back up soon and also I've been trying to get in touch with Adam to see if I can video his upcoming show in Norfolk Va in October to put on youtube. I haven't heard form him yet but I think he's on tour right now so he probably has limited internets. -ghostieo if you like the alternative comedy check out my myspace
is this the only 3 songs floating around from this show?
Whitewatersky, I put these up a few months ago. There is also a version of Sandblasted from the same gig which I didn't upload because when the credits roll its pretty obvious that I (ahem) don't own the copyright for the footage. I know Brad said we could be 'copyright-free' but as ghostieo's story proves youtube can be a bit. Anyway my videos are on Adam's site as well so if anyone takes me to court I'm calling him as my star witness in my defense.
The footage is from a now defunct late night UK music show called 'The Beat' (I got the video from someone on the messageboard on Ajay's site (Dan I think? Thanks anyway).
The show is also on jamesg's videos/TV appearences DVD (disc 2 - I think they start with Harry and Maggie) but the quality is not as good, though there is more of the show.
I have a few other bits and bobs I was going to upload but my video recorder has packed up so it won't be for a while. When I get them onto a DVD I'll send them to jamesg so he can distribute it accordingly.
I spend my life waiting for the future - and living in the past....
Chris you rock man. Loper and myself were talking about your video from youtube earlier. Its really good quality compared to the one on the compilation dvd.
Maybe we all should coordinate a massive taping of the 2008 tour with the band's permission of course. It's about time to put together proper SWD performances...
damn cool...... The Setting Suns | Mercury Lounge | 12.19.2007 Collaboration between Adam Franklin (Swervedriver) and Sam Fogarino (Interpol); first live show, performing the Kinks' "The Way Love Used to Be." This was their only gig as The Setting Suns... their name is now Magnetic Morning. http://soundbites.typepad.com/soundbites/2007/12/the-setting-sun.html
if anyone has video where the video and sound quality are really that good, i'd love to see someone share the original video format instead of the crappy youtube heavily compressed garbage.
would love hidef of the current tour but i'm probably dreaming...
