I'm sorry to say but I took a leap of logic and proclaimed Graham was the drummer on the 2012 tour. I'm mistaken and Mikey will be playing.

For further swerving confusion note that there is a replacement drummer (Nic Gonzalez) in Mikey's band Heaven which is opening.

I had a feeling. It's not in the cards for me to see them with Graham I think. Oh well, I'm still excited to see them either way, now they have a lot more rehersal time under their belts with Mikey.

I guess Jez is still in school? And that is preventing him to rejoin the band. He was great on the 2008 tour & following year in London.

Mikey Jones is a great drummer, he will do just fine. I too was thrilled when I heard Graham was back with the SWD camp, and looks like he's the drummer for the recent studio work. And Jez kicked ass in 08 as always. Hope to see him again with the boys someday too.

Its kinda funny in a way that Mikey is playing with SWD and his band Heaven, who will be opening for SWD, will need to get a replacement for Mikey. I don't play drums but Im sure playing a double set will wear you out so it makes sense. And props to Mikey for not wanting extra $ for playing both sets. Its all about the music with these guys. Cant wait till next month, Ill be going to Boston and NYC shows. See ya all there!!

I also just thought of somthing... Mikey drums for bolts. I wonder if they will throw in some bolts material as well as SWD. Wouldn't that be a treat!!

I love Swervedriver and the bolts stuff equally, but I really wouldn't want to hear them together. Adam plays solo live waaay more than SWD does, so when they DO play, I want all the SWD tunes we can get.

I can understand that point. Hey just wondering... Did you get to see them prior to 1998? Ive been lucky to have seen 8 shows, 4 times before 1998 and 4 times since 08. 1st time was in 94 for the Mezcal tour with Medicine, then again in 97, and saw em twice in 1998 on 99th tour. In fact I was at their last US show in 1998, Providence R.I. at The Met. I wish they would hit up R.I. again as the Met moved to a new location. Great venue, good sound in that club.

Always catch Adam, when he comes to Boston/Alston too. And saw Toshack Highway twice in 2000!! The 1 Magnetic Morning show I saw was awesome. Its still early, but I will soon be counting down the days till the March shows.

I have to admit that (since Jez wouldn't be playing with them this time around) I was hoping it'd be Graham on drums. By the time I saw them for my first time (Raise tour, February 1992, Whisky a Go Go), Graham had already split.
Was it Mikey who sat-in for that tour?

@Mike. I didn't get to see them prior to 1998. I had Mezcal Head, but I didn't get REALLY into them until around 2000. By then of course it was too late. I did see them twice in 2008 and once last year and I am going again this year. I've seen Adam solo though many many times. Luckily he plays all the time in NYC and I live in NJ so I'm fortunate to live near an area he always hits when he does shows.

@Em. I was hoping it would be Graham too since I got to see Jez in 2008. What can you do I guess. Mikey is a perfectly competent drummer for the material. I might be wrong, but I believe it was Danny Ingram who filled in for them in 1992. There also might have been another drummer who did one or two shows BEFORE Ingram filled in, but I could be wrong on that.

Ah, actually I think you're right about Danny Ingram. That name rings a clear bell in my memory.
In the end, I'm just thankful for another chance to see the guys play live. I think this L.A. show will be my 8th time seeing them.
As excited as I've ever been!

No, you are perfectly correct on both counts. Danny Ingram took over the drum seat from the Vancouver show onwards. There was another Dan before him, Dan Morgan of Minneapolis band Run Westy Run, who was kind enough to jump in with very little notice and played four shows with us in Toronto,Detroit, Chicago and Minneapolis.

Well alright! I know it makes me kind of a dork, but that fact that Adi responded to my post made me go 'yeah man!' to myself :)

Mikey did a really great job in Boston. I'll be honest, I'm a big jez fan and was skeptical, but he tore it up - hit all of the accents and arrangements, and brought a lot o power and feeling to the songs.

I never did know what happened to Jez. Mikey did a fantastic job in L.A. last night and I would liked to have seen Graham just to see him but what did become of Jez?

Aka "swerve48" from Ajay's list.

I believe I read somewhere that he went to Law school. And yes, I'm being serious. I could be wrong though.

Something about that makes me simultaneously think 'good for him' and 'that's depressing.'
