...it would imply that the others were anything but.

Man, they were locked in at the Metro. What a show!!

I loved the improvisation. Each song sounded totally refreshed. Rather than rush some of the transitions and interludes, they actually expanded them into standout moments.

I also have to echo someone's comments from last night, it was so nice to listen to a band that doesn't rely upon click track tempos. Everything they played swayed, slowed and then cranked up-tempo in a *very* pleasing way.

If last night is any indication, we're in for something special with the new release in 2018.

Mikey in particular was in monstrous form -- that's the hardest I've seen him hit the drums, and his pendulous swing remained in full effect throughout. A wonderful gig. You're all in for a treat!

I second the above motions - especially Mikey. Where Graham was bombastic, and Jez technical, Mikey is dare I say Bonham-esque. The irresistible force against the immovable object.

Drunk as I was, I managed to get "Duress": https://youtu.be/WpQs2Ta1Jbc

Mikey was a force on every song. Man, I loved it. He and Mick were locked in tight.

I swear I've never heard a louder, more blistering song than Sci-Flyer opening the set.

When I think of bands playing old albums straight through like last night, I expect them to treat the songs like they're under glass in a museum. Try to carefully preserve what they once were, just so...

Last night was a triumph in giving those tracks totally new life. Adam's vocals were up front (for a change, considering Raise). The solos and bridges took slightly new form. I'm simply not sure they've ever sounded better.

I half expected the first gig to require them knocking off some rust, but holy sh!t they had their ray guns dialed to "Melt Face."

NYC gig last night was solid despite a late start and some technical interruptions. As stated above, Mikey Jones cranked. Vocals were definitely up front for the most part. From where I was standing I could get the best listen in years to Jimmy's outstanding playing. Adam of course spot-on. I couldn't hear Mick as much as I wanted-- location issue.
Just amazing hearing some songs played live for the first time -- for me at least, and I've been going to most of their Chicago and/or NYC shows for 25 years.

Random memories:
--"Deep Seat" and "Sandblasted" have probably never sounded better live. Obviously they get played a lot, but still.
--"A Change is Gonna Come" should be played live more. Sounded great.
--The U.S. version of Mezcal Head was played so we also heard "Never Lose That Feeling/Never Learn". Adam offered a wry comment about this during one of the tech repair breaks. Not much between-song banter aside from that.
--Yes, we got an encore: "Jesus" the Velvet Underground cover from the Reel to Real EP.... Because this is VUland, of course.

Looking forward to the new album in 2018!

My friends and I were truly blown away by the Toronto show. I feel luckier than normal to be able to see a show like this.

The mix sounded perfect for me. They put quite a bit of reverb on Adam's vocals and it worked! Many licks and riffs were extended or tweaked and basically I was in sonic heaven with some close friends I've been listening with for 25 years. Throw in 1 or 2 complete different arrangements.

I'm cringing a bit remembering meeting the band at a local pub after the show. I was pretty drunk and gushed more than I would have liked to. I'm sure they are going to get lots more of that if they keep killing shows like this.

I'm holding hope that one of these shows will be recorded well. Onward!

I can definitely say Saturday night in Orlando was the greatest show easily for me AND I got to cross the top 3 things off my bucket list. Finally got to be front and center (right point blank in front of Adam, his Matchless Clubman and Vox sounded insane!). Got the set list or what I thought was the set list( I was really hammered, lol) and turned out to be the lyrics to You Find it Everywhere (which they autographed for me) and last but best of all I got to meet them backstage and chat with Adam and Jimmy as well as get pics with them. Dream come true! Just hearing Sandblasted, Deep Seat, Duress and A Change is Gonna come would have been enough to make this my favorite gig but both Raise and Mescal Head played front to back were beyond surreal and probably a once in a lifetime event.

The next day on the drive back to Miami I was so on cloud nine I forgot to fuel up and ran out of gas on the turnpike. Luckily it was a rental with roadside assistance included and when the roadside assistance guy came and heard the story he couldn't stop laughing at me. Best night ever!

It just keeps getting better! Both Boston and Brooklyn were fantastic shows. Sciflyer, I agree, probably a once in a lifetime event. So good of SWD to do this. Hope its going well for them also!

Planes over the sky line - encore for San Diego - appropriate as the Casbah is at the end of the runway for San Diego airport and the planes come in very low, skimming the tops of the buildings as they come in to land...
Good gig, sound could've been a little better sound wise - maybe it was where I was stood...? Plenty of bass and drums, very little guitar. Raise is my fav album, MH second - so who am I to complain?!

With over a month gone by I had to come back and say it truly was the best show I've ever seen in a lifetime of great shows and that's by a long shot. I really hope they release a video of it as they did for the Australia show several years back. I will be among the first to buy a copy.
