Today - definitely this:
Film School - "Lectric"
off - Hideout

http://www.filmschoolmusic.com/html/multimedia.htm

btw - Anyone know anything about The Feeling Good Conspiracy? I really dig their SWD cover and thought the rest of the disk has the potentioal to be totally choice. I found Magnet School thanks to their SWD cover and rate them up with Your Black Star in nice textured guitar driven sonicness...

I had a bit of a keyboard driven early 80's stadium rock phase a few years back. Nothing better for getting you motivated first thing in the morning, or ready for a night out. Don't get me started on Rick Springfield and Robert Tepper! Being a child of the 80's I guess that kind of thing agrees with my musical palette, so I started to explore it pretty deeply.

I don't know how it happened exactly, I think a friend of mine had a copy Midnight Madness and then I saw the video for "Don't tell me you love me" (Look for it on youtube!!) and I was sold.

Good shout on Damn Yankees J-Mo! Keeping it Night Ranger related as well! I'm desperately trying to think of one now.

Chris, I'm glad you caught the Night Ranger connection with the Damn Yankees. Jack Blades was in both bands.

There have been side projects by Night Ranger members other than Damn Yankees as well. I think the drummer put out a solo album and there was something called The Mob. Shaw/and Blades as well. Brad Gillis toured with Ozzy during "Speak of The Devil"...I think that was the tour.

I hate that I grew up in the 80's.

Yeah, I was gonna point that out until I realized that the album wasn't called "Big Country", either. I was trying to just let it fall by the wayside...

Oh well.

Cinder Road - Should've Known Better

This was the only Canadian music that I heard while there that I thought was coolish. My trip there was a nasty musical void. Awesome skiing and people but the music played in these resorts and night spots were so mainstream it hurt. I hope I havent got ear cancer from my time there. Cinder Road arent that special but the best of a bad bunch.

I really enjoyed listening to Feist and Broken Social Scene's Feel Good Lost while in the bus coming down from Whistler. That was just the tonic. But iPodding while skiing is anti social I think. Anything would have been netter than the classic rock on offer. Wow, one place played Rick Astley for fucks sake!

I really wanted to be able to go shop for some native music while there but there wasnt a place to buy any anywhere. A sampler in some of the ski shops showcasing Canadian record labels e.g Arts & Crafts, would have been a godsend I remember thinking. Marketers, extract your digits! Skiiers have waddies of disposable income - enlighted their ears, PLEASE! And make some money.

Yep, seen that one. Old Grey Whistle Test with Gary Moore right? I'm a huge Lizzy fan. Even those early Eric Bell LP's that not many people have heard are great.
