Hey - anyone know anything about the new Jeremy Enigk disk? I saw it at Best Buy of all places! I didn't get it - but, after checking some sounds that are up on his myspace page - I realized that I have some catching up to do....

Hey Geno. always great to hear from ya.
Actually, I'm pretty sure you have heard Enigk before in the form of Sunny Day Real Estate and The Fire Theft on a couple of my past WAB's. Personally, I didn't realize his solo work was that incredible or that he has done like 3 or 4 solo releases. (I need to check that again)
- here are a few more links:

- you can snag a couple mp3's on his personal site.

His first solo release STILL IS AMAZING! The Return of the Frog Queen is so beautiful. Got to see him tour this record a few times. Absolutely amazing.

Jeremy's most recent, "The Missing Link," is an interesting release. The first four tracks are new songs, while the last five are new interpretations of tracks from his 2006 solo album.

I've heard he's doing more soundtrack work. The four tracks he wrote for "The United States of Leland" are incredible. There was supposed to be a soundtrack, to accompany the release of the movie, but the studio cut funding at the last minute. So here they are, in the only form you'll find them. They're lovely.

Awesome Moen - Thanks so much!
I remember a year or 2 ago you hooked me up with "set it on fire" and another called "Lew's Hollow" - they've been on my older computer so I kinda forgot about them...
"Set it on fire" is such a great track! - Can't wait to listen to the rest!

Moen - since you are also the man that introduced me to Blonde Redhead I should ask you this. I got a copy of
La Mia Vita Violenta
and I have every track except #3. Do you have that track? - or do you need any of these others:
1. (I am taking out my eurotrash) I Still Get Rocks Off
2. Violent Life
3.
4. I Am There While You Choke On Me
5. Harmony
6. Down Under
7. Bean
8. Young Neil
9. 10 Feet High
10. Jewel

At least that's how they are labeled - I don't know it that is really the correct track order...

Cool Moen!

Terra Diablo-"Recklessness Courage" - I can't believe they didn't put this on their new album.

Rocket, did this song get released on itunes?

IMO the extra tracks should be included on the "real" album release. Hmm,I wonder why CD sales are down?

moen - nice artwork. reminds me of SFA.

rocket - anything i've ever heard by enigk has been awesome. the newest disc was given to me as a gift (if you can call an unmarked, pirated cd-r a "gift"), and i quite like it. still prefer SDRE, but maybe that's just me being old-school. (minus the "school".)

um...favorite song today has to be "hearts on fire" by gram parsons.

Hey J-M0 or Boomer. If your email exchange has anything to do with any of those sweet tunes that only smart people can highjack - would you be so kind as to enlighten my ears?

Today...
Elbow - "Forget Myself"
off - Leaders Of The Free World

I loved the first 2 disks so much - I'm shocked that it took me so long to get this one! - it's every bit as good as the first two imo.

keep me posted if you hear anything Jeronimoinfo. I didn't realize that TD had been through web site changes and new forum registrations...

Lonesome Town-Rickie Nelson. Nuff said. If you listen to this in the right mood, and it doesn't make you cry in your beer, you have no heart, and maybe no soul. Or maybe you don't drink beer! (the only plausibe exception).

+/- : "I've Been Lost"

and will you people stop bringing up el ten eleven?? I can't get that stuff outta my head. There should be a law that they have to add another member - two pieces shouldn't be allowed to sound that good. And I am such a sucker for that "hotcakes" video. I quadruplicated the video file and made them fill up my 23-inch monitor at work with the four videos, then looped them all and started them at different times. Holy crap.

sweet Moen! I just snagged a great Meat Puppets song off of an old "X-Files" CD = "unexplained". There were cool Frank Black, Foo Fighters and Soul Coughing tracks too. I used to have it on cassette - but, finally I stumbled upon somebody with it on disk...
anyway - let me know if you don't have it and want it...
