That's a fantastic buy. I've created a genre in iTunes for Failure and similar bands called Heroin Rock. They don't even attempt to hide it, although I think they've cleaned up since. In honor of Croz's find my song of the day is... Dirty Blue Balloons -- Failure |

| I've got "Too Late or Too Dead" on my new Burnies mix. I would actually compare it to the Grifters song "Spaced Out" that Loper put on his new mix. Good song Lope, I'm diggin' 'em. |

RAVE DOWN !
man, everytime I hear it today (I've had the Swervedriver live catalogue on RANDOM in iTunes for most of the day) it trips me about how timeless that song is, while at the same time, it transports me back to the early 90s.
i coulda sworn it was 1990 when i saw the Mustang clip on Rage.... i spose not. I'm thinking of the house i was living in at the time in the University daze.
actually, now i remember, it was on a Rage recording i did that also had a Radio Birdman special, as well as a buncha Ramones clips and other cool shit. the snapped tape is still in the box of vids. spose i could get it repaired... |

| Glad you all like that Grifters tune. That one sounds dangerously close to some of the better GBV stuff. I'll have to include some of their better moments on the next Bernies. |

Hey Loper, not sure if you liked tHe Drop stuff I put on some of my mixes, but I just upped both albums on Indie Torrents if you're interested. I think both albums are amazing.
My song of the day is Gloria by Mineral (a must have if you're into Sunny Day, Fire Theft, etc.) |

yeah im a Porcupine Tree convert too janus and jamo. Great gear in my book.
So Jamo, are you ever goin to spill the beans about your blind date with the bassist with the blonde hair dood? Keep a brother on hold, why don't ya!
Failure is great. Played it twice in the car yesterday as I drove around town in the spring sunshine, Dlux. Track one is the early favourite but i dont know names yet. Its all good, and pretty long.
Off to see Magic Dirt and The Spazzies tomorrow night. So in prep for that im playing Life Was Better today. Go you sick Redhead! |

I got two 764-Hero's on that but, just the first Drop. - which was fine really - I mean there was a ton of other stuff too - it probably didn't fit. which brings me to todays favorite... 764-Hero - "Terrified of Flight" off - Weekends of Sound this is such an incredible album - I totally love it - it's one of my "newest" favorites.

The new Interpol is good, but doesn't really stray from their debut's formula.
The Trail of Dead album is set to be released in Jan.
Rocket, does sending you a song at a time through email bog down your computer? I could send you a song a day. |

AC/DC- Sin City
Hey Croz and Janus- About Porcupine Tree....the early gear is more spacey and electrolike. After that they went more prog, or neo-prog and became more of a Pink Floyd type band. Their albums are put together well and its not full of clutter like alot of other prog bands. They are more heavy and mellow. Does that make sense even? I for one prefer The Porcupine Tree to most of the Floyd catalog. (Sorry folks.) |

Actually Croz - Andy is the lead singer of XTC - and the song I mentioned features him singing with the band from Talking Heads. Hold tight - it's on an upcoming comp Burners.

Damn interloper. The more I listen to ESR the more I have to say it is about suicide. Remember the short debate awhile back about it having something to do with Cobain? Ya never know. Lots of folks hated Cobain but he had big inpact on the industry. Maybe the Swervies were inspired in some way. Yeah, I'll just shut up. |

I don't believe it is about suicide, I think it's more about physically or emotionally escapism from some kind of restricting or suffocating circumstances, or just escaping from the mundane reality of everyday living. I think it’s about breaking routines and living a more unpredictable and exciting reality! I may be totally wrong but that's my reading of ESR! |
