It's Kalvakota. That's his last name. Helluva guy and obviously, very talented. That's actually might be my favorite track on the record. We should be getting together to do another hopefully soon. Stay tuned.

Gawd...the Heap. That brings back a lot of memories. There was an album of theirs I used to listen to constantly at my friends house after a pipe of great hash. It was titled something like Wizards and Demons?? Remind me. All I remember is the guitar player had a name Mick Box, which I think was very cool, especially if it is/was his true name.

Yep, Demons and Wizards. I think that's the third LP.

Uriah is kinda the poor man's Deep Purple, but it's still cool shit. The strat sounds on the first LP are to die for.

Moen - I never new you put it up!
damn....

Got my Bolts of Melody disk in the mail on July 2nd! I've been lovin' it! - more than I even thought I would honestly. It's my favorite Adam Franklin work since SWD for sure!
My only slight disapointment is that I wanted a better recorded version of the Canvey Island PUNK track that came out on the vol. 2 "everday" disk (kinda like how AF re-did "Seize the Day"). But, the mellow Canvey Island Baby track is still toally awesome - so I really shouldn't say anything.

Today...
Adam Franklin - Sundown
off - Bolts of Melody

Just as I read that, I had that track on. Yeah, I can't get enough of it, and I have to agree, it's my favorite thing since SWD that I've heard him do (even though I love it all, don't get me wrong).

On the nerd tip, you know what positively KILLS me? In Morning Rain, Adam does this whammy bar dip that leads to the next chord right before the chorus. Know what I'm talking about? It's fucking butter. The guitar playing in that whole tune is to die for.

Not a problem. Make sure you listen to the last minute or so of the last track, "Lotus." There's a break-down between lines of the mini-chorus that is fucking fantastic.

Loving MTB too.

I havent got off my ass for Bolts Of Melody yet. What a slacker. I will when i get back home. I also like that Kasabian gear. Way too much music out there currently. But Id make space for some SWD covers by you guys. Thats a great move and Im really interested in what you all come up with.

Today (actually - everyday I could just pick a new Adm Franklin track... but in the spirit of not sounding redundant=) ...
Snowden - "Victim Card"
off - The Snowden Ep v2.0

I'm so glad you introduced me to these guys Boomer!
Some girls I work with saw them play here in K.C. not too long ago... they loved 'em too.
Everything is great - the e.p. and the new full length.

So you guys really dig the new Interpol? I've heard such mixed reviews, I've been a little hesitant to pick it up. How does it compare to the first 2?

Consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.

Brooks,

It fits in well with the first two. Not enough of a difference to call it a departure but enough to say that their sound continues to evolve.

I've somehow ended up with the new Pinback. I've listened straight through at least half a dozen times in the last few days. It's my favorite album of the year, sorry Adam, Aereogramme, Minus the Bear and Dakota Suite. You've all been moved down a slot.

Today,

"Karma To Burn" by Karma To Burn. The entire CD is just kicking the crap out of every other band Ive listened to today. Funny how that works out. Theyre not as good as some of the bands I like but today, theyre the best out there. Most KTB fans hate this album because of the vocals, as KTB is more famously known for not have a vocalist and their skill for releasing instrumental albums. I think its perfect. The dark vocals add another layer to their music and Im surprised they gave up vox after their debut release.

If life is but a dream, wake me.

Today,
