"The Sky is a Landfill" - Jeff Buckley
The 29th is the tenth anniversary of his passing, so I'm playing two full hours of his stuff on my show this weekend. It's amazing the amount of material out there, considering how short his musical years were. I can only imagine what he'd have done by now. |

This is cool stuff but I reckon the new stuff from what must be the LP named 23 is much more shoegazey. Very interesting tunes on the damaged lemon LP - thanks Swervies |

Indeed, 23 has many MBV-esque tracks. In fact, my favorite, besides the title track, is my song of the day:

Ted Nugent - "Live It Up" Hey man, this is a great song from Nugent. I'm not a fan.
Cool hayseed! Where are you camping? The northwoods sounds like my neck of the woods. Hmmm.
I like having a holiday off but every bloke in the universe is out and about. I like solitude with my camping. |

That is kinda funny Croz, they were handing out a Matador records CD sampler the other day a Newbury Comics, and Love of Diagrams has 2 tunes on it( the one you mention plus 'Cool')! I had never heard of them before. I dig Pace Or The Patience, good tune.
The holiday in the US on Monday was Memorial Day. Federal holiday to honor people who died in military service. It's a big day to have people over and BBQ in the backyard. |

This morning:
"Perfect Day" - by Lou Weed, ...... uh, I mean Lou Reed, yeah!
Also been digging "The Room Got Heavy" - by Yo La Tango, off of that Matador sampler. Catchy as hell.
Wouldn't be surprised if some Steely Dan makes it to the list today, going to see them tonight! |

"What a drag it is getting old!" - I never thought I'd see the day that lyric had any relevance to me.
I know how you feel Hayseed, the neighbors had a party Sunday and were up playing beer-pong in the backyard 'til all hours. I was jealous.

Today it's Daniel McKay; his debut CD. Australian Classical Guitar wizard.
I did not know until today, that the classical maestro John Williams is also Australian.
Man is it ever inspiring to want to play classical style. I have an old nylon, but it is lacking in tone, to say the least. I dream of one day buying a good classical guitar, but they are very expensive, and you can't buy 'em just anywhere. I'd recommend getting this CD; can be picked up at CD baby, and is relatively cheap. You won't believe the playing skills of this guy. |

Jaymo, all modern classical guitar derives somewhat from Segovia to varying degrees, especially the "correct" guitar techinque, so yes, he does pay homage to Segovia in a couple of the pieces, but some are much more modern sounding where he is using unconventional finger movements and stuff like harmonics. He does this one suite written by Leo Brouwer which is mind blowing. Brouwer is a Cuban classical guitar composer and player. Some of his work is in the atonal realm. Go to ĒD baby and order the thing. I don't think you'd be dissapointed. |

| I can really see why Josh Homme was pushing to get Jessie Keeler, former Death From Above 1979 bassist, to play on this album. That wouldve been awesome, especially with the vibe of this album. |

| I LOVE the Crowes. It's a bummer because I don't think they're coming around here this summer. Saw em last year outdoors and it was fantastic. The cool thing about them is that they always bounce the set around. They're not the type of band that does the exact same set night after night. You never really know what they're gonna pull out. Last year they did Pink Floyd's Fearless. |
