Beck - Beercan
Just for the trippy middle bit with the kid doing the "Im sad and unhappy" line.
Im looking up Lateralus now. Yeah i know some of their filmclips are quite disturbing or *nifty* as you say boomermaiden. Reminds me of those crazy Aphex Twin clips. |

Keep it Dark - Genesis
I don't care how homoerotic, and drenched in typical sounds and production of the early 80's it is, this song is incredible. |

Ah yes, from the ABACAB days. I think "Behind the Lines" from the "Duke" album is a dramatic number. Maybe the "Trick of the Tail" album hits me better still.
Better still is some of the Brand X albums. Its o.k. if you disagree lopermeister. |

| Yeah, as far as the prog guys go, Im a Crimson fan all the way, but I do love a lot of Genesis. Lamb lies down on Broadway is great, and Im not ashamed to admit I like some of the cheeky eighties stuff. That Keep it Dark tune has been slaying me all week. I heard it for the first time only recently. |

It's friggin' dumpin' here right now. Yahoo, rain in the desert. I let iTunes make my playlist for the day, I typed rain in the search and here's some of my faves it came up with: Didn't It Rain -- Songs: Ohia Rain Song -- Sunny Day Real Estate Wading Rain -- Bugs In Amber It's Raining -- Quasi I Don't Need It To Rain -- Tim Buckley and currently playing... You Look Like Rain -- Morphine |

Yo Interloper - I know you have been heavy on the Guided by Voices rotation lately... I just noticed that Adam Franklin cited Guided by Voices "No Sky" as one of his musical "Turn Ons" on his Toshack highway site. FYI |

Yes. Dolphy is on several of the tracks, I think playing Bass Clarinet. I have some live Dolphy at the Five Spot, which I think you'd dig if you like Dolphy in the first place. A little on the "out" side, but very cool to hear the live group, which was experimental then. Booker Little on trumpet (tragically died at the tender age of 23 shortly after the recording was made;major health problems including kidney failure). Dolphy passed not long after that also (severe diabetes and I think Sickle Cell also). The drummer who I think was Ed Blackwell is still alive. |

| Yep, got that one. Dolphy on his own never really did a whole lot for me, but I do like his Time's up, or Time's out, or whatever it's called. It's the blue note lp he did with the clock on the front, and it's all blue. |

| Never heard that one, it's with Bobby Henderson on it?? I have a solo thing of his, taken from his version of the Basement Tapes, done at home. Some of it is great, some rather putrid (some girl chanting on one track ruins what would have been some very nice flute playing with tabla drums accompanying). |
