Hey Croz - I can't open them for some damn reason - I need to have one of my PC buddies hook me up still...

Hey Moen - do you have "adrenaline" by Deftones? I just listened to it - in some ways I prefer it over White Pony.

Today...
tHe drop - "into the red red room"
off - The New Horror Guidelines

Moby Grape- (Best Of)- Bitter Wind. One of the greatest bands of all time..

The tree of life is a burdensome thing, for those who live a lie,
But a man without love is no man at all, just a cold, bitter wind passing by

Highspire - "shattered"
at least I think that is the name of it... vocally it hints of the Stone Roses.
Hey Moen - what is the song title of track #6? That's the one...

'Cept the best keyboard parts on that one were Mike Finnegan. Electric Ladyland was a masterpiece, can't say the same about Band of Gypsies, but Band of Gypsies had the groove all right. Ever heard the double CD of those concerts with the previously "unreleased" material? I still think the original single album was better, but there were a couple of moments on the newer CD....especially on Stone Free.

My favorite Winwood (and most times I don't care for his rather thin vocals) was on Last Exit (Traffic). The organ solo on Feelin' Good, just rocks..absolute killer.

squeezed on with my Deftones "adrenaline" cassette I have CIV "Set Your Goals" and Quicksand "manic compression" ...so I've been rockin' hard lately.

Lope - I totally agree with you about the Reverend. What and incredible guitarist! They put on an awesome live show too.

This moning I'm jammin' on a 5 disk shuffle:

5. the wrens - meadowlands
4. the strokes - room on fire
3. snow patrol - final straw
2. the shins - oh, inverted world
1. serafin - no push collide

Normally I just set the iPod to shuffle, but I just finished mowing the lawn to the every song in the Mary My Hope discography. If anything, at least I know it takes me 1 hour 19 min 50 sec to mow my front and back lawn.

Going on a road trip tommorow, setting up a playlist of the best SWD "drivin'" tunes.

Catherine Wheel_"Satellite". On non-stop rotation here today. I don't know if it's the beautiful sun filtering through the trees, my friends glorious sativa, or the mood, but Rob and the boys have really done it with this song. One of the most beautiful melodic rock anthems I have ever heard in me life. Makes me wanna weep and shout at the same time. And..I have done both. Thanks to Rocketsky for recommending this one, and I think Jaymo sent me a copy...luv' ya bru...

P.S. the fucking exam is over..I think I failed; I'm too smart for them, apparently...And now the boy is really back in town and ready to burn. Treats soon, y'all.

Back to Moen's first Burnie. I've been playing it more intently; really some gems there (like all/most of it). Doleful Lions tune The rats are coming! just keeps playing in my head (amazing vocals, some Beatles/Hollies twinges there..). Also the song Sailor by Shaks Keep Moving. That drummer is amazing; he's playing some sort of complex rhythm against the riff, but it works and stays in time (mind-boggling). So, that's what I've been listening to past few days.

Don't get results until November (don't know why it takes so long, after all,the damn thing was computerized). I'm not too hopeful. I studied hard, but the questions were so picky and I thought misleading (on purpose). Either way, I don't really think I can bring myself to take 'em again. Too many other things in life to read about, not to mention music that I have set aside to get ready for that test.

Eugene, I'm glad someone's finally getting into Sharks Keep Moving, I love 'em. If the voice sounds familiar, it's because Jake (vocals, guitar) from Minus the Bear was in Sharks first. Many of their songs are instrumentals. You can tell they were all Slint or Sea and Cake fans.

Rocket, when I was in ABQ I saws a Lime Spiders lp for like $7, but I wasn't in the position to be buying anything. Don't know if you're into vinyl or not. I can't remember which album it was, maybe I'll do some snooping around the net and figure it out.

Today it's ...

Wow - I wonder which Lime Spiders it was? I do have most of their cassettes though... I love vinyl - I have a ton of records - but, I need to set myself up to be able to burn 'em.

Hmmmm.... I need to pay closer attention to the Sharks... tune - considering I love Minus the Bear SO MUCH. I'm not even sure which song you guys are talking about?

Oh yeah - ya just gotta rub it in with the Interpol snag dontcha! I'm glad it sounds like your diggin it ! I was hoping they wouldn't fuck up a good thing.

I think it was this one, not 100% though.

I loved Interpol's Turn On the Bright Lights, but I think they were worried about fucking up a good thing too. The new one is a little on the safe side. I like it, but it could be more.

I don't have that one - just their full length lp's. It looks like that ep consists of 2 songs - both of which I've never heard... wonder what they sound like? My favorite Lime Spiders lp is "The Cave Comes Alive". I would like to get their overview CD "Nine Miles High" '83 - '90 that recently came out so I could have some of their tunes on CD to add to comps.

Croz - You've likely heard "schism" and maybe "parabola" off the Lateralus album. If so, go to Undertow.
They've got some pretty "interesting" videos for the aforementioned tracks. I think they are *nifty*. Others decide to vacate stomach content upon viewing.

I'm listening to The Stills - "Still in Love Song" and the Fugazi live set linked to by KingBlind yesterday...
