They are playing in Lawrence (about an hour drive away) soon and I'm thinking about going - wish it was here in K.C. though.

Fucking great! Go see them, you'll enjoy it! I think I'm gonna go see them in Albuquerque next month.

YAY! Moens back!

I did get to fulfill my dream last week. Raise at high volume as i sped from heel side to toe on my snowboard! An awesome experience! Prolly the best soundtrack to snowboarding of the week. Then on the way home i listened to it again with an unititiated mate and we were imagining the "finding of the edge" around the corners. I can die happy now.

Hey Moen did you get my WAB with the t's for you are you missus in it?

That sounds awesome Croz - you lucky bastard!

yeah Moen - I don't doubt that I'd really LOVE the show - considering how much I love MTB!
But, I think it's on a "school night" and an hour away - so, the old man in me was creeping out.
back - back old man!

Today...
Convoj - "my time keeping heart"

don't have the CD - just this mp3. But, I'm getting it. If nobody has taken me up on it yet - please go to
http://chalksounds.com/
and visit the FREE mp3 section!
download Convoj and The End Will Be Kicks. TEWBK actually have a new release date now!! - I've been waiting since Feb. - it's supposed to come out Sept 28th - that's when I'm gonna score the Convoj too.

Today Im jamming to Thick - Helmet

This track was released in 94 as a b-side I believe but I remember hearing it in May 93 at one of their shows. BTW, after giving their new album plenty of time in the rotation, I have to say that Helmet is a mere shadow of their former self. Of course, its hard to follow a masterpiece like Meantime. Wilma's Rainbow and Aftertaste were vailant efforts but Size Matters just flat out sucks.

If life is but a dream, wake me.

Welcome back Croz-boarder, 'Raise' & snowboarding must be amazing! Thanks for the tunes, got them after you left.
Speaking of 'Raise'... today for me it's the Tower Records live recording of 'Sandblasted' off this site. Love this slowed down version :)

Hey Mezcal, did you watch Somersault yet? Id like to hear your thoughts! Glad you liked the tunes dude! Still digging Starflyer 59.

Song of the day would have to be something of my new copy of Terra Diablo's LP - Its fully sick! (yeah ive been on the mountain too long!) Its so valid though!

Such a creative bunch you lot

hey - we should be friends!
I've only heard the disk twice so far... but, I do like it.
It won't win my best of '05 or anything - but, I'll get some good mileage out of it.

I'm actually much more blown away by the new Minus the Bear that I'm hearing for the first time!

oh yeah - the new Broken Social Scene is choice also - maybe not quite as good as "you forgot it in people" - but, stilll tray excellent! A lot of the songs are pretty busy - lots and lots of action in the background - but, it's really cool.

Ya that was an unexpected bonus & pleasure man... I never heard of this movie before, but it's quite choice. Won a hell of a lot of awards! & Cool tunes a la Decoder Ring I wasn't able to get to the end though, a lot going on in my world. Don't feel bad, as I haven't been able to get through my new RGB DVD yet either. Oddly enough, like Somersault, it too features a segment with a teenage girl exploring her sexuality. When you get it, check out 'Perversion' (video/film for thier song 'Tous Les Soirs').
BTW - more SF59 coming your way for Somersault!

Sounds like I need to check out Minus The Bear......

today, "I Come From The Water," by Toadies, off of 'Live From Paradise.' I just happened to glance at the CD cover this morning and that song instantly popped into my head. Blasted it all the way to work.

Rubberneck got Toadies on the map but I'll be damned if Hell Below Me/Stars Above isnt their best album. Every track on that record is choice. Dont you just love it when a CD is like that. The Maximo Park disc is starting to get that way with me.

Today its: A Different Cage - Skull Kontrol and Dickey Trios - Snuff

I played the shit out of Beg to Differ as a young teen lad. Only later did I realize how much of a Killing Joke rip they were, even had their bass player if I remember right.

Check out this band. They are being touted as the next big thing here in Australia which is strange i reakon but they do latch on to you well. I han hear some Dropkick Murphy's and Nick Cave in their sounds.

Just got my mail from last week, got the Sciflyer EP "Age of Lovely Intimate Things" and The Life and Times "Suburban Hymns".

Wow. Sciflyer, while a tad repetative, could really pass for a 6th SWD album. Had most of the Life and Times album already via *shady* sources of Acquisition, but felt I better support the band since I missed 'em the other night. Very impressive.

Terra Diablo still nowhere to be found. I shoulda just mailed Terry a 20 spot and begged for a CD-R <sigh>.

Yep. That's my pick as the greatest electric guitar playing of all time. It's the one where he holds the high E after the first round of singing for what feels like a minute.

It's a good album, although I do like the Rob Crow songs a little more than the songs with Chino. Some of it seems a little rushed and slapped together.
