"Up At The Lake," The Charlatans. Was stuck in my head this morning. Not their best album, but pretty good in spots IMHO.

mine today is:

"some people try to fuck with you" by teenage fanclub.

it's a b-side from the "grand prix" era.

I've been really loving the new lp, too.
all of gerard love's songs are particularly excellent.

I'm excited that I'm going to see them live on august 8.

Carnival is an excellent track, my first exposure to Lupine Howl, thanks to this thread.

Today
Aloha - Let Your Head Hang Low

I seem to be having a lot of fun with bands that begin with A lately, Ambulance LTD, Autolux, Arcade Fire and now Aloha. Only bands starting with S can compete!

Love Lupine Howl! I also discovered them through this thread! I never get tired of their albums. Whish they were still around!

Been listening to a LOT of BJM lately, getting ready for the show this Friday! It's almost here Strudle!

Today though, it is........

Your Sickness by Pinback off of Blue Screen Life. The same friend who introduced me to Swervedriver turned me on to these guys.....though the 2 bands really don't have much in common...

OK from LH, today I'm kinda into 'Sniff the Glue'
Hmmm, have to be careful how I say that...
Of course I got into Lupine Howl from this thread too, got 'The Carnivorous Lunar Activities' a while back off eBay. I didn't know they broke up, that sucks - there's only the two of them? Credit you guys for LH, Autolux & getting the BMJ mp3 site. Been hearing about BJM for years thanks to the Warhols, finally got the hear most of their stuff now. Methodrone is still I think their best.

hey james - I'm kind of in the same Flaming Lips boat as you... I like them in the "jelly" days - and saw them live...
then lost track of 'em...
Only recently I was hooked up with "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" and "The Soft Bulletin" - both are great!

Today...
Sloan - "Marquee and the Moon"
off - Between the Bridges

as a whole, this album is not near as good as Smeard, Twice Removed, or One Chord to Another
- but, "Marquee and the Moon" is really a awesome track - in fact - I might WAB it up!

Today.. a new radio station http://www.eastvillageradio.com

Go to schedule and click on Fast forward reverse. It's on Saturday evenings 6 - 8. Listen to last weeks show. The second track is a Boo Radleys oldie, next is a track off Rob Dickenson's (Catherine Wheel) yet to be realeased album. An old swervedriver track gets an airing for good measure "Year of the girl" later on. Lots for us Swervies to enjoy!!

absolute classic.

you know, for many years I thought that the lyric in that song went- "eating out this girl is the hardest thing that I can do..."

just one of my many lyric-butcherings.

my favorite song today:

haven't listened to anything except me playing my drumkit.

Speaking of which........

today, "When Jokers Attack," and "Servo," by the BJM!

I think both 13 tales and Come Down have awsome opening tracks,...especialy 13 tales though! First few songs are amazing!

I had "There Goes The Fear " in my head for almost a month... it was awesome...
I really love the special extra edition disk that came out with Last Broadcast too. Beautiful stuff.

I need more Dandys, I'm thinkin' lately. I only have 13 Tales... and Come Down. What seemed to be a new song on the DIG movie scared me though - think I'll try to build up as cronologically as possible...

I've heard their first album "Dandy's Rule, Okay?" is really good. In addition to the 2 you mentioned Rocket,I also have "Monkey House," and it's okay, I think it's their weakest album (it was produced by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran). The new one comes out in September, I believe the first single is called "Smoke It." Sounds promising!

Today I'm still on a BJM kick....."Who" off of Take It From The Man!

Consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.
