Which reminds me...am I the only one that think's U2's "Beautiful Day" sounds like it could have been a Swervedriver song?

Interloper - I'd love to see that video someday!
And - I totally agree about the guitar tones on Vertigo. It actually makes me want to check out the CD! I've always liked U2 - I love their first 3 albums - after that... I really only liked about half the songs on their albums. If you trash some of their rediculous and boring ballad songs and just keep some of the more guitar driven stuff - I think I could make 1 or 2 pretty damn good U2 CD's out of their last 5...
Anyway - the tone on Vertigo is insane - I was just talking about this with the guys I jam with. Not to mention - Bonos vocals are rockin on the tune too - it's more "old style" Bono.
We can put Beautiful Day on the cover songs for Swervedriver thread and see how they do with it at the big reunion show. He He.

Ha Ha - that's awesome!

But, my main ? is that they never say exactly what Casey Kasem from American Top 40 actually did or said about the fake U2 - they just keep referring to it and joking about it...

"Endless Shovel"/ Rouge Wave & "One"- Sunny Day Real Estate- Goodies from Boomdaddy!

"Grace Too" - Tragicly Hip ,and The Sufjan Stevens song from Moen's gear. - The first Sufjan Stevens album is intresting...."A Sun Came" Check out "Super Sexy Woman" - I think Sufjan likes Ween.

Been digging Catherine Wheel alot lately. The Adam and Eve album is sounding real good these days. Oh, and Elbow is good gear on a cold and snowy evening.

Yea I've noticed that lately there are 2-3 people selling boots on eBay. I do my best to report them when I see them but eBay rarely does anything about it. :(
Most of the time they either doa really short auction or set a low "buy it now" price so the listing doesn't linger there too long.

today it was
Deep Purple - Highway Star

Like Rocket (i think he said this) I havent been big on the old classics at all, so have been slowly going back through some; Iggy, Lou Reed, Beatles, Stones, Led Zep, Acca Dacca etc - but NOT THE SINGLES played day in day out on Classic Rock stations! I have been pleasantly surprised by a lot. Todays example had me remembering way back to me finding an old porn....training video of my dads. This track was used with a horse rider and her mate and a bloke with a terrible mo... Cheesy stuff, but its a fuckin cool track.

I hear ya Croz. It blows my mind when I think of all the music thats available. And then I compare that to how much is played on the radio. Makes me mad in fact.
A new discovery for me was Van Morisson. You always hear the same old shite on the air from him. I picked up a copy of "Tupelo Honey" some time ago and there is some real honest soulful songs that you can chew on. Check out "Moonshine Whiskey" if you get the chance.

Wow, the snow, you should see the snow today.

I'm in Marquette a couple days to visit my son. He turned a year yesterday.
A good song for the day would be "Never Lose That Feeling".

Jeronimo - I have the first Stereolab but, I have only heard part of the 2nd... it sounded great if not even better than the first.
I would recommend either or both.

Can't really go wrong with any Stereolab. There was an album that came out about five years ago that was superb. can't remember the title and its buried deep in one of the jumbled CDs stacks around here someplace. Saw them live a couple times, three girls with keyboards and beautiful vocal harmonies and three dudes for bass, drums, and guitar. The first time I was about to bail twenty minutes into the set and then they started these extended psychedelic jams in they signature pop-ish style and the show really piqued my interest and attention. Delicious! Around two years ago the main woman was killed in an a cycling accident if memory servers, forever depriving us of more feel good happytime sonic beauty. Superdraggsville.

I was taking a break from playing at this four story wharehouse practice space, and of course listening to a bit of SWD from the comps Interloper hooked us with, for I can't tire of them. This drummer down the hall heard, recognized, and then brought me some live shows circa '93 of the Verve. Don't have any song titles but, they're pretty good and growing on me. Apparently, they went through some member changes since then. but that earlier time period (epic guitarist with MegaTone) seems very enjoyable, pretty space-travel. Think ya'll would dig it if you aren't already cognizant.

The Stills - "love and death"
off - Logic Will Break Your Heart

So... I finally got this CD - and I've been liking it a lot. It's a bit on the polished side of the recording world - but, it has hints of the South, Doves, and Coldplay = what more could an ear want in life?

Im not a huge fan of Stereolab in general, but I love the Dots and Loops LP.

As a side note, I was working sound in a bar on Saturday, and was playing a SWD comp. At least a handful of people complimented me for doing so because they love them too. I was a bit surprised.

Can't help there mate. You can bet someone here knows something though.

And I'm still looking for someone who has any Loop gear.

Any of these will do:

Loop- "Heaven End"
"Gilded Eternity" --(from what I've read, this is the one to shoot for)
"World in Your Eyes"
"Wolf Flow"
"Fade Out"
"Eternal-The Singles"
"Dual"

They even have a songs called "Too Real To Feel", "Rocket USA", "Brittle Head Girl","Deep Hit","Burning Prisma","Nail Will Burn","From Centre To Wave", "Thief(Motherf*cker), and "Vision Stain".

Rare psyche brit pop/rock circa 1990's. Albums out of print I think. ARGH!!!! Released on Electra.

Yes Amazon has them but.....they're like 30.00 like..like...like.

So, does this only happen to me?

Nah, not Loop Guru either! Just plain LOOP.

Just saw a LOOP CD on half.com. They want 45.00 bones for it. I guess Half.com means half of every thing you own to make a purchase. ARR!

Croz I really dig on that 78 Sabb song from the fist compilation you sent me. Hope they tour Michigan!

Posies- "Solar Sister"

lol Derek!

I awoke one morning to that damn song "I don't wanna work, I just wanna bang on the drumn all day." So I took the songs advise and called in sick. True story. Everytime I hear that song I feel my rebel instinct take hold.
