Hey all, been on a Detroit-soaked mission today. Bought New Race's 'The First and the Last'; looking forward to getting my hands on this disc.

Back to this millennium - check these dudes out, plenty of energy and some good tones.

'Another Day' off the Dissatisfaction EP is on repeat:

dudes - I was just checking out these killer links and saw a Lime Spiders vid on the side - and I was thinking holy shit I gotta find my Lime Spiders cassettes! Man - especially "The Cave Comes Alive" was one of my favorites of all time! Found them thanks to 120 Minutes.

I've been thinking about the Lime Spiders lately because of the new Redd Kross album. I had The Cave Comes Alive and Neurotica in my car glove box for aaaaages.

Rocket, itunes has the track, on a psilocybin sounds compilation called 'Open Your Mind'.

triple j unearthed have a few tracks of theirs for free here: http://www.triplejunearthed.com/TheLaurels

ww, checked out The Screaming Tribesmen (first time I had heard them; I led a sheltered life until uni), pretty good eh, cheers for that - then got sidetracked into The Hitmen http://hitmendtk.com/
(another first listen, lots of energy), and ended up with my fave Saints track "Story of Love' - the double solo sends chills to the emotion centres :)

TD, man if you've just discovered the Screaming Tribesmen, you're only a stones throw away from:
The Cosmic Psychos > Southern Fried Kidneys > and ultimately The Bo-weevils!

WWS, Morrisey, really?
I wish I could afford to go to the All Tomorrows Parties with My Bloody Valentine next Feb in Melbourne but I think I might have to make do with Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Einsturzende Neubauten shows at the Enmore instead.

Seen both, didn't realise the Dandy's were still going. Can't remember if they were good though, so they obviously were not awesome. That's ok though as you're seeing the SSPU's, who I can confirm as being the very definition of all that is awesome!!!

Thanks for the Laurels links guys - I will be hitting those this weekend.

Yep croz - I've seen both bands. I wish that I could have seen both in their earlier days... But, I just saw Silversun Pickups just a month and a half or so ago. It was an outside festival. They were great - but, I would have liked a different venue and as we've discussed I do prefer their earlier tunes a bit more.
I saw DW a couple of years ago. The show was awesome and was probally the longest set I have ever seen. I don't like their new stuff at all - but, they played all of their earlier classics and had great visuals on stage too.

yeah Sammy.
love me some morrissey tunes.
not a Smiths fan - dig the Smiths "covers" that Morrissey does with his solo bands over the years.

just don't go for the Smiths "sound"
weird eh. i spose it's cos the Morrissey line-ups over the last 20 years have been SO rockin.
can't wait for the shows - saw him in Japan earlier this year.

Great one Snail - I've been loving this track:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnKUD_OztRE&feature=related

as a whole though - I'm dissapointed INSTRUMENTALLY with the new one. a bit too keyboardy compared to the perfection of Inner Speaker.

Hey Croz - when is the show again?

Know where you're coming from Rocket. I too prefer the 'non-fuss' approach, but I dont mind the meanderings. They keep that gritty guitar fuzz pretty well present through the new one, so on a whole I'm cool wit it. Great melody makers I reackons.

Good to see Croz stoked up!

Here's another one to stoke things up:
Cheatahs - 'The Swan' Just when you think basic rock chord combinations are covered...well out comes another kick'n A one. Wonders never cease. It's like a tardis in this rock'n roll caper!

Havent checked back, but wouldn't be surprised if someone hasn't post this earlier. Loved it first 2 bars.
