Yeah totally - very similar Croz... maybe slightly heavier in parts and slightly more pop in small patches - but, it all seems to work for me! Definitely the same Loveless sound - in fact, I listened to Loveless today after listening to Fleeting Joys!
I think you'd like it.

Man, what happened to these guys? I had so much hope for them after their debut and then they just fell off the face of the Earth.

Lee Michaels-"Do You Know What I Mean?"

Been trying to get back to the basiscs in music. Too many fucken clone bands. Even the indie scene is flooded with cunts.

How did you end up having lunch with Parris, if I may ask?

Sorry to repeat the same song twice, so my new favorite for today is "Just These Days" by Supertouch.

Meantime - Helmet

The whole album! One of my all-time favorite bands and probably the band that single-handedly turned the tide, steering me away from the crap that I listened to in my early years and opened my mind to truly great music. Of course, their new stuff is downright tragic.

I had a chance to see them with The Jesus Lizard as their opening act. The loudest concert Ive ever attended.

If life is but a dream, wake me.

It came up on random play. I love it! The whole Best In Show grab is so cool, then the guitar kicks in at the perfect time.

sci-flyer : blasted the re-issue this morning before work.

fun fun fun !

hey Riffage - sorry, been super busy and havent checked this thread for a while.

There's some Supertouch info/talk etc over here :
http://excoboard.com/United_By_Walter_Schreifels___The_UBW_Community/28661/1755528

with Parris, I dropped him a line to say how much I was diggin REVENGE. It had just come out the year before and I bought itin a little shop over in the west village on a previous trip - then on that trip i also hadta buy a Cro-Mags shirt on st Marks just cos wandering NYC while listening over the CD Walkman got me super psyched on that album.

anyway, he said I should look him up if ever over there, so the next year I was goin to NYC again so I wrote him and he gave me his number and said to call. so we had burgers somewhere uptown and then cruised around for a while checkin out shit. great stories... was fun. i should catch up with him again. i don';t find much of interest in the whole Cro-Mags soap opera.

weird goings on to this day - like all the arguments about the REAL cro-mags etc...

all i can say is that Parris wrote some madhouse music and was a real gentleman to the missus and a cool guy to me.

Ha ha. Man, Flint is nothing but bad news. Poverty and crime is insane. It used to be the most dangerous city in the U.S. I think lower Michigan still holds that title with the greater Detroit area now. Its hard to believe since I live in Upper Michigan and I can walk the streets any hour of the night and not gett offered a blow job from a crack whore.
