I'm with you, Croz. This album has been stuck in my head for the last couple weeks. There's a block of songs (tracks 2-5 maybe) that consistently bowl me over.

If I may nit-pick, however... this album is solid listening minus a single out-of-place chorus on Panic Switch that suddenly sounds like a desperate attempt to sound-like-everything-else-on-mainstream-radio.

Sort of a piss in the punch, for me. The only moment that makes me question my rose-tinted SSPU glasses.

I cant recall what you mean about that track P. There do seem to be some weaker tracks from 7-9 perhaps, 10 and 11 are strongest for me now. Sorry been playing on car stereo without track names, over and over. Im very happy with the tint of my glasses still. As for mainstream I think this is much less attractive to that kind of radio. Much less than Carnavas and Pikul especially at first listen when I was thinking, FUCK THE HAVE GONE DOWN BROKEN SOCIAL SCENES PATH! ARGHH, with all the extra busyness, but no, after more listens the changes seem very natural. I bet they love playing these tracks after hammering the first 2 releases for a good 3 years.

He's got a alarming amount of really, really good LP's (at least twenty or so in my opinion), but this one's a definite top favorite of mine.

With Phil Spector's recent prison sentencing, this song seems appropriate. Maybe ol' Phil will be singing it on his way to the slammer.

the Byrds-Life In Prison (from Sweetheart of the Rodeo).

Sing it wit' me: "Now I'm doing life in prison, for the wrongs I've done, and I pray every night for death to come. My life will be a burden, every day. If I die, my pain might go away...".

Spector's contributions to music are legendary, and he's a genius, but he killed that l'il girl, and he needs to pay for his crime. Sorry, Phil. Now I'm gonna dig up my old scratched 45 of Da Doo Ron Ron, and play it LOUD...

God what a psycho. I love it. Are those guys just huge down under? It's a real shame they never hit in America quite like AC/DC. They're damn near just as good.

Hehehe!! Yeah look at 'em. Say no more. They are 'big' down under but somehow still do pub gigs and one off shows at biker conventions etc etc. 'We Can't Be Beaten' rocks everytime you hear it. Angry Anderson did a "This Is Your Life" show and cried like a baby the whole way through. He's all heart though. Even got his mum on the show.
