Yeah, I remember Jakob from the SxSW from 2006. Touring with ISIS? Wow.

For today, I'll pick "Semaphore" and "The Diffusion of our Inherent Situation" off Cale:Drew

From the myspace, it seems like they have moved closer to Pelican and shifted away from Maserati/SIANSpheric. It's all good. Thanks for reminding me.

I like Pelican...textural instrumental stuff, somewhat mood inducing.

For the real deal try: Mesmeric Enabling Device, if you can find it. Worth every penny. If not, I'll send it to ya'. :>) Don't even think of listening to it without inhaling; that would be like taking a bath with your clothes on. It'll send you to the center of the Earth..guaranteed.

Eugene - I listened to the snippets over at the iTMS - it sounds like Mickey Hart's cover of the Eraserhead Soundtrack. Maybe with a dash of Jean Michel Jarre buried deep in the background.

Today - I've been listening to last.fm's Swervedriver radio station. Very nice mix.

Hmm..interesting comparison Booms. It's a rather intense sonic experience listening to it in it's entirety though.

Reading about Mesmeric Enabling Devise reminds me of your 3rd WAB - I know you enjoy the soundscape stuff.

I was listening to Underworld's Cowgirl while reading it. Ties in with Boomers Eraserhead comment too.

I'm in an Andrew Hill jazz jag at the moment. Prolly wouldn't interest too many people here, but...if you like Tenor Sax, Sam Rivers plays on a lot of these..and he is/was the shiznit....IMHO.

No, is..is...God Bless, he is still alive! Living legend. If you have any Jazz leanings, no matter how minor do not miss hearing the classic Dave Holland recording Conference of the Birds, circa 1976, with Sam doing most of the horns, along with Anthony Braxton. It is truly a beautiful piece of music.

Jaymo...you're blowing me away with these picks. Love Wishbone Ash, and especially the album Argus.. Here, I gotta stand firm, my old vinyl sounds much better than the remixed CD. They totally changed the EQ emphasis and suppressed certain tracks on the CD mix vs the Vinyl. My fav on that one is the King Has Come...

Turn To Stone-Joe Walsh Joe did 2 versions of this one. My fav is on Barnstorm, he redid it again a few years later. I'd recommend Barnstorm if you have not heard it. He did it with Kenny Passarelli on Bass and Joe Vitale (Canton OH) on Drums and flute. The photos are priceless. They're looking like a nice peak on some or other drug, leaning on a fence up there in Nederland Colorado, where it was recorded. 8600' if I recall. Can't forget those details.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9-uniiNuiM&NR=1 Great quality here, considering it was recorded from Dick Clark's show F.F.S... (that means, well, you know what it means).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0_KBe8z0h0&feature=related this one is of Meadows, one of my fav tunes from the Smoker you Play, the Drinker you Get.
