Yep, it's called "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun". Great tune. If you want to hear a cool version of that, get the CD/album Ummagumma. They do a live version on that one which I really like. It was first released on the studio album Saucerful of Secrets (I think).

That's an interesting period for them having just lost their chief songwriter. I think it's pretty amazing how they bounced back and essentially became a completely different animal (pun alert). There's a BBC recording of them during the Echoes era that's absolutely incredible. Highly recommended.

'time to ptretend' MGMT. Kids are giving it a go! like the filmclip - out there and something other than i-pods and stuff.

Regarding the recent Floyd delvings, i'm really into their sense of time/timelessness in their songs. they ain't going anywhere too fast and ain't going anywhere they don't have to go if you know what i mean. it breathes easy though going into unexplored territories. Cheers Geno and Loper - will check out these links. these guys must look back at what they've left the world and see an amazing body of work. i'm just getting going at trying to size up what they've done.

Ha Ho Boomer! - I was totally 24/7 SWD headphones in my ears all day at work - a week or so before the show. Not that I don't always listen to some SWD here and there - but, nothing else could scratch my itch before the show - ya know...

Today...

Elbow...I have Asleep At The Back and a few tracks via WABs. Now when I hear them I always check the iPod screen and try to make a note to look into them further. What else should I get a hold of from them?

Elbow - Fallen Angel
from
Weekend At Burnies 2 Rocket (thats how its labelled in my library anyway.)

Marvellous!

In flight is excellent also Snailo. I have only ever bought one cd via iTunes and this was it. Is there a way I can get it onto my laptop from my desktop pc? I wish.
