"Shine a Light" - Adam Franklin from the Sydney Show.

Does anyone have the version that was on Adam's Myspace many moons ago?

Today,

One Inch Punch - Seaweed (most underrated 90's grunge band!)

This is off of the album Four. Ive listened to this band as long as Swervedriver. Brings back awesome memories.

Well, taste in music is all just a matter of personal opinion anyway, and there are no wrong answers. Well, except yours. And no, only one is also a painter, and even then it's not really accurate to say music is the sideline interest.

Anybody else who wants to sample the band, there's a fan-made video to one of my favorites songs of theirs here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HY1ywAZ_wE

I checked Torche out. Pretty darn tough loper.

Torche-"Grenades"

I'm intrested in knowing what the rest of the Meanderthal LP sounds like. I didn't care for the songs form the other albums. Good find interloper.

Well, the CD I have of theirs is pretty poor (Set and Setting). You want it? It's yours gratis. OK, only one of them is an "artist"; I stand corrected. Go ahead, insult my taste, most of the Swervies here know that ain't true, but I still say they suck, unless they got dramatically more musical since that one.

Nah, I already have Set and Setting and the tour t-shirt! Send it to somebody who likes droney fuzz rock, like Flying Saucer Attack or early Mercury Rev.

I'm not sure what you mean by "musical" - if you're talking strictly technical proficiency, that's going to put a lot of pretty great bands behind some pretty average ones. I don't know too many people who would rank an album like The Velvet Underground and Nico below something like ELP's Love Beach, yet which one has better technical playing?

Bardo Pond has a pretty distinct sound. If you don't like it, there's nothing wrong with that, but I think it's kind of misguided to blame the band for not doing something you like. They've got plenty of fans; their albums get roughly the same ratings that Swervedriver's do on sites like AMG or Rate Your Music, and clearly given their output, they know what kind of sound they're going for and how to make their instruments do what they want them to.

That all said, Set and Setting was pretty hit-or-miss. "This Time" and "Datura" were great, but the rest was kind of average. Lapsed is a much better album.
