Gerling - Doin' OK

From "4"

I have listened to all 20 cds from Deep Elm Jeronimo. My favourites so far are:
Brandtson
Surrounded
Slowride
Planes Mistaken For Stars
Fire Divine
Desert City Soundtrack
David Singer
Camber

Seems as though their executives are on an Emo band hunt and that doesnt really grab me. 50% Emo and the rest Indie Rock with a few Electro Rockers chucked in, see below.

The T i got was for Free Diamonds - Their LP sounds great but the singer has a shit voice which wrecks it completely for me. The T is cool, has sandshoes on it - can't go wrong there, Im a sneaker freaker.

I didnt score any Nada Surf via this drop but I read they do look after them.

I paid $50 - you pay lots less, what $30 - they cant be making any money in a deal like that.

Pedro the Lion - "When They Really Get To Know You They Will Run"
off - It's Hard To Find A Friend

most of the disk is fairly boooooring to me - but, this track reminds me of the Lemonheads. simple and catchy. Speaking of The Lemonheads, they just played here in K.C. a few weeks ago - I missed it...

I love the Pete Framton live record like anyone, but his time in the Pie gets overlooked. Great, great band.

They are touring the US soon. Remind me a lot of Caribou, who I also love, and maybe The Shins or Death Cab.

Had to make a three hour trip home yesterday. The one big highlight was "Watch Yourself" from Ministry's latest album "The Last Sucker" which is supposed to be Al Jourgensen's swan song. What an awesome song. I think it could be the best Ministry song that Ive ever heard. Although I dont agree with Al's political views, he will be sorely missed.

If life is but a dream, wake me.

Have you heard live at the Isle of Wight? I much prefer it to Live at Leeds, Heaven and Hell on that is one of the most powerful things I've ever heard. The concert footage is amazing as well.

I listened to Mezcal Head on the train home last night. That record is immense, so:

"Harry and Maggie"

I would love to hear this on the tour. This and Pile Up.

Oh yeah. The Wight show is a close second to Leeds for me. The one thing though that Wight has over Leeds is that they play Water on that one which I love.
