Posted - 12/30/2008 : 04:33:09 AM Roscoe, I'll be coming in from NW10 one day when I have nothing better to do. I'll definitely check out the Odeon as well. Note: I will neither be dressing as a bull nor an Angel when I make the jaunt. Can anyone think of any more Swerve locations I can visit? |

Posted - 12/29/2008 : 10:55:01 AM hi chris - not sure which way you're coming up, but if you can, go up the holloway road and stop outside the odeon on the left as you go up.... it's the cover of last day on earth single.... |

Posted - 12/29/2008 : 02:51:23 AM Not having bought the remasters yet (hangs head in shame, surely someone should have bought me them for Christmas though?) I wasn't aware that was in Hampstead Heath, I always assumed it would have been Mexico or something. In true fanboy fashion I will be making my way to affluent NW3 to get my picture taken outside it ASAP. |

Posted - 12/26/2008 : 12:38:27 PM oh also... from the sleeve notes... i never realised that jez once played in 5.30. they were really good. i've had a wee look on youtube, and can't make out if jez plays on this, but this is one of their best tunes, 13th disciple:

Posted - 12/26/2008 : 12:15:48 PM i got given all 3 remasters for christmas.... not had a chance to listen to them, but i've read the new sleeve notes. the extra detail is great. most surprising was the comment on the mezcal head cover. i never noticed the background, behind the bull. it's a pub about 1.5 miles from my house, on the edge of hampstead heath.... one i have ridden past on the way to work, most days for the past 10 years, and never noticed.
the pub is called the spaniards inn, and like most pubs around here, claims that legendary highwayman dick turpin was a regular. more photos of it here:
http://www.pubs.com/pub_details.cfm?ID=240
The mezcal head cover is not the first time that the spaniards has been featured in music........ if you watch the link below, 15 secs in, it is shown in the madness video "it must be love" , albeit from the other side that the mezcal photo was taken.

merry xmas swervies. i can only hope that 2009 is as good for us (musically) as 2008. |

Posted - 12/23/2008 : 11:41:42 PM Eric just emailed:
"Hi Jason...No plans for ESR right now. It wasn't cheap getting these two out so we're starting with those first! Perhaps in the future though. Best, Eric"
let's make sure we buy these US releases, k? :) |

And actually, according to the last newsletter from M-Theory, it's now February 17th. |

That kind of sucks, seeing as Ejector Seat is the one that has never been released here to being with. Oh well, I'll buy the damn import.
I recall paying about 40 USD for that disc on import when it came out... |
